🚨 It’s Your Money!

Right now, the Washington County Supervisors are determining how much you’ll pay in property taxes.

The facts:

  • Property tax revenue grew 75% in 10 years, inflation was 33%.
  • Washington County’s population only increased by 2.4%.
  • The county levy rate is 50% above the state average.
  • Per capita, county property tax revenue increased by 14% last year. Did your income increase that much in one year?

Families shouldn’t pay more while the county government overspends.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Contact the Washington County Supervisors today and tell them to prioritize families and control spending.
  2. Ask why Washington County has the 4th highest levy rate in Iowa. State mandates are not the reason. They apply to every county.
  3. Ask why Washington County withheld a property tax cut when the state took responsibility for mental health funding. Taxpayers had an increase that year.

🕒 Speak up before it’s too late! The supervisors need to hear from you before they finalize the county’s budget.
